So net neutrality has been repealed. But the discussion is far from over. The repeal is going to be challenged in the courts. Internet companies like Google, Facebook, and Netflix are going to put forth a major campaign against this. Expect the “83 percent of Americans opposed the repeal” to come up as well. The GOP may also wonder about the potential political ramifications of this. It could bite them hard. I can bet you that there are some very, very smart people who are going to monitor the behavior of the Verizons, Comcasts, and AT&Ts. If you start seeing price increases and throttling of speeds, people will pick it up and report on it. You may start seeing cities working to install their own fiber optic networks.
